Time taken: Onward trip - 7hrs 50 mins (6:00 hours drive time)
Return trip - 6hrs 55mins (5:30 hours drive time)
Our trip started from our office at Guindy at around 5pm on 20-Feb-2009 Friday. We didn't prepare much for the trip even though we planned it a few weeks back. Or rather, we had a 'that's ok, we can manage' kind of attitude. We had 2 small back packs and only 1 helmet just for the driver. We took the Guindy-Porur route towards Poonamalle. The traffic was a bit high as expected till Poonamalle and from there we hit the Chennai-Bangalore highway. The 4 lane road was so good, the spirits were high and with Bon Jovi's "It's my life" playing in my ears, there was hardly anything to stop us except for the hunger, and the dinner break came soon near Sri Perumbudur. 
From there I took the back seat and I really missed a helmet as I couldn't listen to the music because of the wind. So I stopped the music and started to enjoy the twilight beauty of the route and the passing vehicles. From there on, the trip was normal, the climate was cold and we took breaks at regular intervals, swapping the driver seat. We reached Krishnagiri by around 11. and after a short break there we started for the final 92kms stretch of the trip. I really enjoyed driving from there thru the twists and turns of the road and the climate was extremely cold because of the hills. I could really feel the chill creeping up thru my hands making it almost numb. The heat from passing by trucks' emission was a relief but just for a few seconds. The road was extremely good till Hosur.
And from there, even though the road was good, we had to be more careful because of minor diversions and blockades as the elevated highway project was in progress. And by 1 am we reached there at home a lil bit exhausted mainly because of the wind - making us realise the part of a helmet in such a road trip.
After 2 days in Bangalore, attending my sis kid's bday function and a lil bit of roaming, we started back on 22-Feb-2009 Sunday by 4.45pm. The return journey was much more better - thanks to my sister's helmet which was perfect for a pillion : )
Till Hosur there was a lil bit of traffic slowing down the drive and from there the drive was so good till Krishnagiri through the scenic geography. After a small break there, we started from there and the next break came at Ambur for dinner. Had the famous Ambur biriyani for dinner and again we countinued our journey. And after 2 more breaks, we reached back Chennai by 11.45pm, ending another trip with some good memories....
